The villa, is in a secluded setting but still close enough to Pollensa Old Town and local beaches of Puerto Pollensa and Cala San Vincenc. The house, which has been comprehensively refurbished and modernised to a high standard, is an ideal place for a peaceful summer holiday in the unspoilt area of Northern Mallorca where you can enjoy magical mountain views and spectacular sunsets from the terrace. The villa is reached via a series of stone steps which lead up to the front door through the charming gardens of bougainvillea, hibiscus and other vibrant Mediterranean flowers as well as two lily ponds full of frogs! The new town of Puerto Pollensa with its restaurants, shops, marina and sheltered beaches is only 10 minutes drive away as are the picturesque coves of Cala San Vicente, where you can enjoy fabulous Spanish paella. The historic market town of Pollensa is only a 5 minute drive and the nearest supermarket only a couple of minutes by car. Tennis is available and there is also a good golf course close by. Pollensa is an ideal location for bird watching especially during the migrating season as the area is in the migratory path. Walking, cycling and riding are lovely early or late in the season when the weather is more temperate and the sailing is, of course, magnificent in the famous Pollensa Bay. Puerto Pollensa also offers a great choice of water sports including sailing, scuba diving, water skiing and there are also boats for hire should you wish to explore the bay. In Pollensa old town square you can find a good selection of restaurants and pavement cafes to relax in the shade.

Safety notes: We welcome families with young children to Casa Ladera every year, however we just draw your attention to the following safety issues. The terrace (outside the living area) which is set above ground overlooking the gardens, has a low wall surround, with bougainvillea plants growing above it, but no high railings, so please take care with young children. The swimming pool and lily ponds have low wall surrounds but are not fenced for children. The swimming pool and terrace are illustrated in the pictures on this website, but please do contact us for further information if required. Please note that the villa is in a quiet area and we do ask guests to be aware of other residents in respect of noise both during the day and at night.
Water Sports: The area is wonderful for all kinds of water sports including sailing, water skiing and diving. Boat hire and dive shops can be found in nearby Puerto Pollenca. Details available from the owner.
Bird Watching: Mallorca is in the migratory path and therefore Casa Ladera provides the ideal place to stay for keen bird watcher during the migrating season.
Golf: The fabulous Alcanada Golf Course is only 15 minutes drive from the villa and it is sometimes possible to negotiate favourable prices for our guests, depending on numbers and time of year. We are also happy to assist with bookings if required. Please contact the owner for details and assistance. Pollenca Golf Course is also only a five minute drive from the villa. Though smaller than Al Canada, this is a lovely picturesque course.

Cala San Vicente has the advantage of being by the beach and being only a few minutes drive from the beautiful bustling historic town of Pollença. Alternatively, head to the mountains to escape the heat, for nature walks and breathtaking views with the stunning and rugged cliffs of the Cavall Bernat dominating the valley of Cala San Vicente.

Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa: The picturesque countryside around Pollensa is a colourful mixture of fertile fruit orchards and lightly wooded glades, bordered by hills to the south and dramatic rocky outcrops of Mallorca’s northern mountains. Contained within ten square kilometres, the region stretches along the coast to Alcudia from the golden beaches of Puerto Pollensa and inland to the quaint, historic small town of Pollensa itself. To the north the shores of Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia are fringed with kilometres of golden sand with water sports and ideal sun bathing for the more relaxing holiday. Pollensa, apart from its pretty square has the Via Crucis which is a notable attraction with its long stairway which ascends Calvary Hill, from which there are superb views over the coast.

Alcudia and Puerto Alcudia: The town of Alcudia and the compact port of Alcudia are situated on the neck of one of Mallorca’s northern peninsulas. Many visit Alcudia for the beach alone, 11 kms of curving white sand that shelves gently into the sea, there are many beach-side cafés and restaurants, and a great variety of water sports. There are many other local activities to keep you occupied including horse riding and golf. The nightlife centres around the local bars and night-clubs which are lively but not rowdy. Alcudia, is just what you would expect from a beach holiday, with a range of nearby cultural sites to visit as well. There is the walled town of Alcudia itself, with Roman ruins and a lovely Sunday market. The port of Alcudia has a lovely old fishing village which lies at the northern end of the beach. A tight grid of streets, with restaurants and gift shops lining the sea front, and more traditional Spanish style shops and cafés on the street behind, with some excellent sea food restaurants.

Golf: Alcanada Golf Club is the newest club in Majorca having only opened in October of 2003. Designed by Robert Trent Jones and Robert Trent Jones Jr, two of the best architects of golf courses in the world. Located to the west of the bay of Alcudia, it is surrounded only by nature and the sea. From almost all points of the route the course offers stunning & impressive views coupled with demanding and challenging greens and is open to non members. To help you relax after your round of golf, The Club at Alcanda offers an excellent restaurant and bar area with an enormous terrace which overlooks the course and the beautiful coastal views of Alcanada. Characteristics: – 18 holes – Even 72. All usual ammenieties are available including Golf Shop, Lessons, clubs and buggy hire etc. Alcanada is just 15 minutes from the Cala San Vicente as is The Pollensa Golf Club which is open to non members.
